PTA Board Members
Our PTA board members are dedicated volunteers who advocate for educational policies and resources that benefit our students, teachers, and the entire Mark Twain Elementary community. Empowered by the membership through by-laws and elections, they work collaboratively to manage the PTA's affairs between general meetings, and hold a position of trust and fiduciary responsibility. They are responsible for the viability, credibility, and effectiveness of the PTA.

Frequently Asked Questions
What informs the PTA's decisions and scope?
Overall, our by-laws inform our decisions and scope, in addition to our school district, the Westerville Parent Council, teachers and staff, Ohio PTA and YOU - our paying PTA members. Mark Twain PTA board members ensure that we're adhering to our budget and being good stewards of our resources before final decisions are made on events and requests. How can I get involved with the PTA?
We'd love for you to join us - the Family PTA Membership is just $10 per family per academic year and all proceeds feed directly into the budget to support PTA programs. Members are welcome to attend meetings and offer their expertise and ideas, as well as utilize their unique gifts by serving at events or on PTA committees. Paying members present at PTA meetings will be asked to vote on important items like the annual budget, by-laws, emergency funds requests, and board member elections. Click here to pay your membership dues through Give Backs.
What is a typical PTA meeting agenda?
We work to ensure that our meetings are frequent enough to keep our community collaborative and our work moving forward, and infrequent enough that we aren't asking for too much of your time. At each meeting, we aim for efficiency; we take attendance, say the pledge of allegiance, and hear from our principal and teacher representatives. Next, we welcome our Westerville Parent Council report, catch up on old business, address new business and wrap up with upcoming events and important dates.
How can I share my ideas for new clubs and fundraisers?
We welcome all ideas for new clubs and fundraisers! Simply attend a PTA meeting to share your idea or reach out directly to the board through the contact form below. We look forward to collaborating with you!
How can I request financial support for my idea or program?
Use this form to submit funds requests or special requests directly to the PTA Board.
How do we use the Mark Twain Elementary Family Facebook page?
While our website serves as the all-access hub for events, membership and more, the Facebook page, led by our school administrative assistant, is a great supplement and offers immediate dialogue with other Mark Twain families and staff. To join, simply search "Mark Twain Elementary Family" (or find a link at the bottom of the webpage) and request to join.
When can we order school gear from the school shop?
The Mark Twain Spirit Wear Shop opens periodically throughout the school year. We work with Megan Lee Designs in Uptown to offer unique designs every year. Visit their website anytime at www.meganleedesigns.store, and look for an announcement online and a paper flyer from school to know when the Mark Twain shop is open.
How can I volunteer at the school or in the classroom?
Mark Twain is always looking for enthusiastic volunteers to support a variety of school activities, PTA events, and classroom needs. Whether you have a few hours a week or want to help occasionally, there are opportunities for everyone to get involved. Thank you for being part of our school community. Your time and energy make a big difference! Visit the district's website to view the required video, complete both sides of the volunteer form, and drop it off in the office at Mark Twain.
